If you do, please stop back by and let me know how it works.
I have used other natural recipes and have problems withreacting to the baking soda, so was thrilled to find your recipe. Yay for healthy DIYing!I know you’ve already had a few questions like this before but thought I’d ask nonetheless. Thanks!Hi Tina!
I just made some homemade deodorant a few days ago with baking soda, and it was not good. Does your cause staining or discoloration, maybe even a dullness of the white clothes? You can find an affordable scale online through Amazon, or possibly at a big box retailer. No, I am sure that you probably did nothing wrong. . What a great thought!Just made your deo with french clay instead of DE! We have never had any issues with the deodorant getting on clothes! Happy DIYing!Hi, just tried this recipe I used 24 drops of EO mixing bergamot, peppermint and lavender (1/3 each).Hi Jane! This deodorant will set up in a tube just like a traditional deodorant stick. I’m hunting around for a natural deodorant recipe that actually works without using baking soda or alcohol (ouch!) I was wondering how many deodorants this recipe makes?Hi Lillian! You will still be getting many benefits and ingredients that help with unsavory smells and help to draw that moisture out, but the DE is kind-of crucial in the ‘drawing out’ efforts. And for those of you who are worried that the DE clogs the pores, it doesn’t. I’m excited to try out this recipe. We have never tried to substitute it with another powder. It’s a good natural disinfectant and the smell is a bit stronger (it fades during the day, so don’t worry)I have the same problem Hayley, I understand there is a detox period but the odor was very strong even after I stopped using it.I haven’t tried it as I came across it while researching diy deodorants, none of which I have made yet but this link could be helpful! Thank you for answering my questions and for having an easy to read and navigate website!Hi there! I hope this helps you!Hey! I found a post online from one of the suppliers I use that said the Shea butter can become grainy if not cooled down quickly enough and suggested putting it in the freezer initially to avoid that. Mine turned out more taupe than your photos show.
I did adapt it to make it hold up better in a plastic deodorant container and added a tiny amount of baking soda that helps keeps you stink-free in Texas without causing that horrid baking-soda rash.I poured this in an old deodorant container and it is just like store bought in consistancy, but so incredible effective. I have very sensitive armpits and I have found that just adding 1 Tablespoon of baking soda is just enough to control the odor without being irritating. Thanks so much!Wonderful post… I have used homemade deodorant of coconut oil twice so far and that left me extremely satisfied with the results. I really enjoy trying them and this is the only one that hasn’t worked out for me. It also turned out taupe/brown color. There are lumps, albeit small ones. Good for you and good for the environment! I sweat easily even if I’m seated at my work desk or in an air conditioned room .. And the smell of the coconut coupled with sweat makes the smell of my BO even more unpleasant. I just have one concern. Eek!I’m glad you found my recipe, too. Yes, I am sure that you must always keep a supply on hand for your chicken coop. Et en bonus, faire son déo soi-même aide notre chère planète! What a difference. Thanks for your help!Hi Marisa! I was wondering if you can use mango or cocoa butter instead of Shea butter?Great question…yes! We are happy you stumbled upon us, too! Let us know how it goes! My guess…? As for the ingredients, we sell all the ingredients for this recipe in our I am pleased with this recipe. If so, any guess as to how long they might last?Hi Emily~ Great question! Yes, please let me know how it works for you with the Kaolin Clay.
I am wondering if you have put a small amount of baking soda in and if that works? Good job!The essential oils are what gives the scent, so removing them will be unscented. It’s different for each person…how much do you use, how often do you apply, etc etc etc? I had to spoon it out. But I understand wanting to use Tbsp/tsp. I am getting desperate lol. Many people react to baking soda, which is why I created this recipe.I don’t know what ratios you used, but it could be the beeswax…it’s trick to say without knowing the recipe followed.Hello! Since when we sweat we are eliminating toxins, why not help draw them out!? Is there any way that I could amp up the odor fighting of this deodorant? Yes, if you wish to make this recipe a bit more ‘stiff’ you can try adding a little more DE. Also, if you want a stronger scent from the deo, you can always add a few more EO drops (so long as it isn’t irritating you) and you can also add a bit more DE. I’m ready to share it with you. For a toothache, try mixing 1 drop of tea tree essential oil in 4 oz of warm water and swish in the mouth a few times per day. Our family is making the switch to homemade bath and body products after reading about all the nasty stuff that’s in regular store bought stuff!
I know that your comment was made a long time ago, but I’m hoping the homemade deodorant worked for you with Thieves oil…if it didn’t, it’s because it’s to “hot” to use exclusively. You could experiment adding more wax &/or butter to compensate. Please let me know if there’s something I could substitute in. As a male we have armpit hair that clumps and such and I personally prefer a gel.Hi Brian! Not uncomfortable to apply but just requires more rubbing to make sure the granules dissolve. Thanks again! Thanks again!I’m excited to try this deodorant. !Hello….which Coconut Oil from TT do you use as their are different kinds & prices???Hi! When I apply, my armpits do look brown! We have never played with tapioca flour here at the shop and we don’t know much about it. My family (children too) and animals are all treated with DE internally once a year.
Thanks Scratch Mommy !
